# Belief 信仰 Domain: 🟪 Executing ### Signature Theme Description If you possess a strong Belief theme, you have certain core values that are enduring. These values vary from one person to another, but ordinarily your Belief theme causes you to be family-oriented, altruistic, even spiritual, and to value responsibility and high ethics —both in yourself and others. These core values affect your behavior in many ways. **They give your life meaning** and satisfaction; in your view, success is more than money and prestige. They **provide you with direction,** guiding you through the temptations and distractions of life toward a consistent set of priorities. This consistency is the foundation for all your relationships. Your friends call you dependable. “I know where you stand,” they say. Your Belief makes you easy to trust. It also demands that you find work that meshes with your values. Your work must be meaningful; it must matter to you. And guided by your Belief theme it will matter only if it gives you a chance to live out your values. ### Shared Theme Description People exceptionally talented in the Belief theme have certain core values that are unchanging. Out of these values emerges a defined purpose for their lives. #### Additional notes: Belief is in the Executing Domain. Your values drive what you take action on when you have high Belief. (source: 2) You're led by a certain set or specific core values that don't tend to change, and that do provide a great deal of direction and purpose to what you choose to do and how you live your life. (source: 2) There's probably something in your life that you know, has an absolute right-wrong.  When specific issues or choices are presented, you might feel a certainty about which way to go. (source: 2) Your Belief is going to show up in different ways, depending on different themes that you have. (source: 2) it's important to take stock of the perception that you have of other people, When you feel "judgy," get curious. Anytime you feel a wall being put up, replace that wall with a question. Invite understanding instead of quick criticism. (source: 2) Align your external work with your internal mission (source: 2) Within a team, you could be the conscience of the group (source: 2) ### Raw and Mature - Raw Belief looks like opposition, whereas mature Belief looks like advocacy. - Raw Belief can be judgmental and shut down when someone does something against a person's values, while the mature version of Belief is grounded. - Raw Belief is an anchor that is heavy and drags a person down, whereas mature Belief is an anchor that grounds a person in a storm. - Often, people with mature Belief are excellent stewards of organizational values. Mature Belief brings stability and guidance and often, mature Belief focuses on altruism and service to others. (source: 2) ^60fc21 #CS/Belief🟪 #CS/Responsibility🟪 **Belief and no Responsibility** probably sounds like "regardless of the commitments that we have, this is what I stand for". **Responsibility with no Belief** might sound like "I stand for this, because people are counting on me to fulfill what I've said I would do". **Both of them together** might say, "I am going to say yes to the tasks because they align with my core values or a core value of mine is to honor my commitments. (source: 2) ^724308 ![[🟪 CS_Responsibility#^acf501]] #CS/Belief🟪 and #CS/Achiever🟪 Both Belief and Achiever are executing themes, so one of the things they have in common is a drive to get things done, to take action, to produce results. Achiever is the drive for daily productivity, and being busy and checking things off the list motivates those high in Achiever. Belief, however, doesn't have to be busy and productive every day; Belief is a more selective productivity. If a project or initiative aligns with the values of an individual strong in Belief, that person will work tirelessly to accomplish the goals and deliver great results. Alignment of values, purpose, and work are essential to those with Belief in their Top 5. While those high in Achiever can often feel great about any job they have as long as they are busy and productive, those high in Belief only feel good about themselves and the work they do if that work aligns with their mission and purpose in life. ^2411a1 #CS/Belief🟪 #CS/Consistency🟪 **Belief** might say, "The things I can get fired up about are unchanging," **Consistency** would say, "The habits that work for me to get stuff done are unchanging, or not likely to change." And Achiever has almost this infectious nature to say, Let's go a little bit harder, farther, faster, stronger and bring other people along. Belief is kind of the difference in having -- in a race, an organized race, sometimes you've got pacesetters, who are runners who know that they're going to consistently run at a certain pace. And you'll see them wearing a different colored shirt and you'll know, That's the guy with the 9-minute mile. That'd be an Achiever. Belief is just running the race. They are more about that internal motivation. (source: 4) #CS/Belief🟪 and #CS/Maximizer🟧 One of the things that **Belief** and **Maximizer** have in common is a commitment to standards. But the idea of what constitutes those standards is one of the differentiators between **Belief** and **Maximizer**. • **Belief** is driven by mission, purpose, integrity and values - those are the standards that Belief aspires to live up to. **Maximizer** is driven by excellence, value, meeting a challenge, and focusing on developing talents into strengths. Excellence is the standard to which Maximizer aspires. • **Maximizer** wants to build something great; **Belief** wants to do something purpose-driven. • **Maximizer** inspires others to achieve excellence; **Belief** inspires others to achieve the mission. I think the Belief equivalent of that would be, "When it matters to my values, the effort is not a struggle." (source: 4) ### Source: 💬 "I've found that when my goals are in sync with my personal values, my motivation to achieve them skyrockets. It's like there's this internal compass that guides me, making the journey towards these goals feel more meaningful and less of a grind. For me, it's about ensuring that what I'm striving for doesn't just look good on paper, but resonates with who I am and what I stand for. This alignment has been a game-changer, transforming the process of working towards my goals from a mere checklist to a fulfilling pursuit. It's this harmony between goals and values that keeps me driven, focused, and genuinely excited about the progress I'm making." - Tilly Davies (source: 6) ### Strengths Whisperer Podcast ![[💪 The Strengths Whisperer Coach to Coach Podcast Notes#^044844]] ### Themes that accelerate or sharpen: #CS/Significance🟧 #CS/Connectedness🟦 #CS/Activator🟧 #CS/Focus🟪 #CS/Command🟧 #CS/Maximizer🟧 #CS/Strategic🟩 (source: 7) ### Themes that soften: #CS/Includer🟦 #CS/Relator🟦 #CS/Empathy🟦 #CS/Harmony🟦 #CS/Developer🟦 #CS/Individualization🟦 #CS/Woo🟧 (source: 7) ### Sources: 1.
