# Arranger 统筹 (tǒng chóu)
Domain: 🟪 Executing
### Signature Theme Description
You are a conductor. When faced with a complex situation involving many factors, you enjoy managing all of the variables, aligning and realigning them until you are sure you have arranged them in the most productive configuration possible. In your mind there is nothing special about what you are doing. You are simply trying to figure out the best way to get things done. But others, lacking this theme, will be in awe of your ability. “How can you keep so many things in your head at once?” they will ask. “How can you stay so flexible, so willing to shelve well-laid plans in favor of some brand-new configuration that has just occurred to you?” But you cannot imagine behaving in any other way. You are a shining example of effective flexibility, whether you are changing travel schedules at the last minute because a better fare has popped up or mulling over just the right combination of people and resources to accomplish a new project. From the mundane to the complex, you are always looking for the perfect configuration. Of course, you are at your best in dynamic situations. Confronted with the unexpected, some complain that plans devised with such care cannot be changed, while others take refuge in the existing rules or procedures. You don’t do either. Instead, you jump into the confusion, devising new options, hunting for new paths of least resistance and figuring out new partnerships —because, after all, there might just be a better way..
### Shared Theme Description
People who are especially talented in the Arranger theme can organize, but they also have a flexibility that complements this ability. They like to figure out how all of the pieces and resources can be arranged for maximum productivity.
### Additional notes:
14% have Arranger in top 5. Most frequently paired with Responsibility
Matching talent to task and really adept at being able to do that beyond just resources. (source: 2)
Their talents may focus primarily on systems or processes -- i.e., creating the perfect flow-chart (with enough flexibility built in for when circumstances change). Or their primary focus may be spatial and tactile -- i.e., arranging and rearranging the furniture to maximize the available space, esthetic considerations and traffic patterns. It might be focused toward people and teams -- i.e., getting the right people in the right role to create an efficient, high-functioning team. Or it may be all three. The point is, those high in the Arranger StrengthsFinder theme have a way of getting things done using a flexible, organizational mindset that maximizes productivity. (source: 4)
### Helps and Hinders
_**Helps**_
- You likely have an innate ability to manage multiple projects and personalities at once. You have great multitasking skills.
- You are efficient and can help your team employ concise, clear ways to get things done.
- You tend to clearly see what others can do well, who would work together well and how teams can best achieve their outcomes.
- When circumstances change, you quickly see the implications and can change plans accordingly. (source: 4)
_**Hinders**_
- Your naturally flexible talent and organizational style can make it difficult for others to see the underlying system, structure and prioritization.
- You make adjustment quickly based on the changing circumstances or information, and as such you can leave people behind. Remember the middle-school algebra directive: Show your work.
- Your tendency to configure and reconfigure until it's right can leave others wondering if you are making changes simply for the sake of making changes. Help them understand the reason for reconfiguring.
- Even though your intuition about configuring systems, spaces and people for maximum efficiency is often on target, remember to ask for input from others -- they may see things that you don't. (source: 4)
##### Self-Awareness
- _The Power and Edge of Arranger:_ Those with high Arranger naturally gravitate toward complex systems, processes and teams that need an organizational nudge. They are natural conductors and efficiently move themselves and their teams toward successful outcomes.
- _The Vulnerabilities of Arranger:_ With their natural ability to see patterns and quickly organize people, spaces and things, Arrangers often "get there" before anybody else. This can leave others questioning the soundness of their decision-making process. Also, their need to configure and reconfigure for maximum positive effect can give the impression that they are making changes out of boredom or for personal interest. As such, Arrangers can be viewed as valuing process over people.
##### With other Themes:
#CS/Achiever🟪 #CS/Arranger🟪
They're both about doing, but they bring different flavors of hard work to a team. Achiever spots opportunities to work hard toward completion; Arranger spots practical tweaks -- little changes that can improve how we work hard. (source: 7) ^38e252
#CS/Achiever🟪 #CS/Arranger🟪
**Achievers** are excellent at personal production, **Arrangers** get things done with and through other people. ^de00a5
#CS/Arranger🟪 #CS/Discipline🟪
**Arranger** practice fluid, real-time planning, while those with **Discipline** are fixed, pre-planners.
#CS/Arranger🟪 #CS/Strategic🟩
**Arrangers** juggle multiple realities, and people with **Strategic** really sort through multiple possibilities; these are imaginary things. Arrangers are dealing with reality. ^61bcc4
#CS/Arranger🟪 #CS/Adaptability🟦
Both **Arranger** and **Adaptability** are themes that are comfortable with change. The difference is that people with Arranger are a bit more about, to some degree, creating change; be the source of change in a team or an organization, whereas people with Adaptability are more likely to react and respond and to some degree, to go along with change. People with Arranger have a bit more control over change or influence over change.
#CS/Arranger🟪 #CS/Adaptability🟦
Whereas Adaptability is more about the presence and the ability to react with grace, Arranger is about that sort of taking control and saying, We need to make some of these changes, and here's how we can do it. (source: 4)

#CS/Arranger🟪 and #CS/Connectedness🟦
Connectedness: intuitively know that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts;
Arranger: intuitively know how to position each part so that the whole functions more effectively and efficiently.
Both Arranger and Connectedness are essentially "if … then ..." themes.
But Connectedness sees this from a philosophical perspective while Arranger sees it from a productivity perspective. (source: 3) ^ce1ce0
##### Themes that Moderate
#CS/Arranger🟪 #CS/Harmony🟦
For **Arranger**, **Harmony** might help in the stabilizing of emotions that could be affected by changes. People with Arranger often change things. And there are often emotional implications to change. ^11fa1d
#CS/Arranger🟪 #CS/Focus🟪
**Focus** could moderate **Arranger** by bringing a more singular direction to this kind of flexible and changeable approach. ^b3d243
##### Themes that Intensify
#CS/Individualization🟦 #CS/Arranger🟪

##### Quotes:
💬 "My #2! Sometimes I find Arranger at odds with my #1, Strategic, because it means I constantly change altitude from 30,000 foot view to runway level tasks and that knocks me out of flow-state. But nonetheless, I appreciate the connect-the-dots/connect-the-people shared aspects of my top 2 strengths." - Cameron Chinatti
💬 "My #10, but I do love making those puzzles of complexity get organized!" - Daily Urso
