### Creating an Astrologer
When creating an astrologer consider their relationship with the stars, how they leaned about the powers of the stars, and how their character uses this power.
When determining the statistics of an astrologer it is recommended to prioritize Wisdom then either Dexterity or Constitution.

## Known Spellcasting
*1st level Astrologer feature*
As an Astrologer, you are able to harness the magic held within the fabric of space and its entities. You learn various magical abilities from the stars and planets.
An Astrologer is typically a learned caster with Wisdom as their Spellcasting modifier, wielding a repertoire of spells that can only be modified under the light of stars. You know a number of leveled spells equal to your level in astrologer + your wisdom modifier. Additional spells that are always prepared are gained through your subclass. You know two cantrips at 1st level, gaining an additional cantrip at 4th and 10th level.
If you complete a long rest while under the light of stars, you may change one of your learned spells with another on the Astrologer spell list.
> You may ignore the restriction on changing spells with permission of your GM in order to change a spell at any time or location.
You can use an orrery, timepiece, astrolabe, or arcane focus as a spellcasting focus for your Astrologer spells.
**Magic modifier** = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
**Spell save DC** = 8 + your magic modifier
## Foretell
*2nd level Astrologer feature*
Peering into the stars and the fates of your allies you are able to condense an unstable mote of possibility for them to capitalize on or avoid.
As a special action you roll a d20 and choose a friendly creature you can see, they note down the roll's value as an astral die[^astraldie] which can be used a few ways. Astral dice last until used by an ability or after a minute passes. A creature may hold a number of astral dice equal to their proficiency bonus. If they were to gain astral die beyond this, they must choose and discard down to their maximum, this counts as expending for the sake of starforms. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your level in astrologer each long rest.
- When making a check you may expend an astral die to replace a roll with its value before you know its result.
- When making a check you may expend an astral die to re-roll a die of the same value.
Starting at 5th level you may *foretell* twice as part of the same special action expending two uses of this feature each time you use it rolling two separate dice giving both to the same ally. At 18th you may expend up to three uses at a time.
[^astraldie]: How exactly you track astral dice is up to the individual/table, they are referred to as dice and many effects allow you to manipulate them as if they are, but they are ultimately just a value. Simply writing these values on a piece of paper works perfectly well, but some may choose to set aside and hand out d20s until used/expended/re-rolled if they have pretty dice they want to show off.
## Cosmic Focus
*3rd level Astrologer feature*
You choose a constellation, celestial body, or some other phenomena of the cosmos to focus your studies upon gaining an astrologer subclass of your choice. Your subclass grants you features at 3rd, 6th, 10th, and 14th levels.
## Feat
*4th level Astrologer feature*
Your skills mature as you continue to hone your talents or look to new horizons. You gain the [[Ability Score Improvement]] feat or another Feat of your choice. At 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th levels you repeat this choice, gaining further feats.
## Astral Waltz
*9th level Astrologer feature*
The first time you deal damage or restore hit points with a leveled spell each turn you may dip into the unstoppable grace of the stars to empower your movement. You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to the spell's level. For as long as you have these temporary hit points your movement does not provoke opportunity attacks, you are unaffected by difficult terrain, and you gain a +1 bonus to saving throws. As a reaction to taking damage may expend these temporary hit points to gain resistance to the damage. At the end of each of your turns, if you did not deal damage or restore hit points with a leveled spell, you lose any remaining temporary hit points granted by this ability. You may use this feature a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus.
## Pinnacle Feat
*20th level Astrologer feature*
You reach a pinnacle of skill unseen by most gaining a uniquely powerful trait. You gain a Pinnacle Feat of your choice.
> Reminder that although some pinnacle feats are available to everyone, things like class and subclass provide additional options.

- Whenever you or an ally expend an astral die you created, it disperses into a mote of astral energy that rushes back to you and joins those forming your wings. You may hold a number of these motes equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum of 3). Once your starform ends you lose any remaining motes
- As a reaction, you may expend three motes to give yourself or an ally advantage on a check.
- You may expend two motes when you Foretell to regain one use of the feature.

An honorable constellation the seer watches from the heavens taking in the world and it's inhabitants for all they are. Nested in her nexus of stars, her astral eyes, she watches the comings and goings and quiet moments between. Those who look to her grace often seek to know more about the world and from her they can learn.

*3rd level Seer feature*
As a bonus action you can enter a starform. You take on an astral appearance with glowing eyes an a ethereal haze that hangs around your head. While in this form you gain the following benefits

- You can see invisible creatures and magical sources within 20ft of you.
- Whenever you or an ally expends an astral die you created, is disperses into a mote of astral energy that rushes back to you and forms an eye-like star that drifts around your head. You may hold a number of these motes equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum of 3). Once your starform ends you lose any remaining motes.
- As a bonus action you can expend a mote to learn the exact location of a creature you have seen in the last minute and is within a mile of you. For the next minute they are counted as a creature you can see when determining targets of abilities.
- As a bonus action you can expend a mote to learn a piece of information about a creature you have seen in the last 30 seconds. You can learn the creature's creature type(s), damage resistances & immunities, damage vulnerabilities, condition immunities, armor class, or current hit points.

These dice as dormant, cannot be uses, and last until the end of your next long rest. Whenever you *foretell* you may awaken a dormant die granting it to the chosen creature instead of rolling a new value. Once awoken these special dice as treated identically to normal astral dice.
## Watchful Waltz
*10th level Seer feature*
Your consciousness is enhanced by the simple act of movement. While affected by astral waltz you can see objects in the ethereal plane within 20ft of you, you gain advantage on perception checks, you are aware of all creatures within 10ft of you, and can communicate telepathically with creatures that possess an astral die you created.
