# Ascension-ism The official religion of the empire. ## Beliefs Practitioners and followers believe that the [[Etherium]] is a sentient, divine being that judges all souls for the lives they've lived and the choices they made while alive. ### Ascending It is believed that those who follow the teachings of the [[Priesthood]] and live their lives with piety and reverence will be pulled closer to the Etherium, strengthening their ether, allowing them to "ascend" through the caste system and live a better life.
