**Binder jet 3D printing**, known variously as "Binder Jetting", "Powder bed and inkjet" and "drop-on-powder" printing, is an [[Additive Manufacturing]] technology for making objects described by digital data such as a [[CAD model]]. The technology involves the jetting of a substance ("[[binder]]") through (typically) piezo-electric printheads onto a powderbed (of metal, ceramic or polymer powder). This jetting process is repeated onto consecutive layers of powder, thereby forming a solid part - that may need postprocessing to obtain its final shape and properties. Binder jetting is one of the seven categories of additive manufacturing processes according to ASTM and ISO. Adapted from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder_bed_and_inkjet_head_3D_printing
