# Intense Innovation When a new Technology is Created
#innovation #creativity #technology
This is an idea that I believe I picked up from [[Paul Graham]]'s [[Hackers and Painters (Source)]] where it says something like:
"When a new technology is introduced (For example, writing or [[Oil Painting]]), the biggest and most interesting innovations with that technology happen very early, right after it's launch."
I was reminded of this when writing about [[The Victorian Internet]], where most of the useful applications we use today (email, chat, mailboxes, newstickers, financial transactions) were already _working_ in the 19th century.
Relates to [[Homer für Eilige]].
