When our mind is full, we have less room to just sense a thing as it is. We hear the beautiful chimes of a bell and instead of listening we think about what we have to do because it’s that time. The Taoists believe there is wisdom in returning to a sort of childlike mind where we come at the world with deep seated curiosity like before we developed labels and categories for things.
