# The Red Queen Hypothesis
The Red Queen Hypothesis is an evolutionary concept that argues that organisms must constantly adapt and evolve in order to survive, just like the Red Queen in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland story.
It is based on the idea that even though species are continuously evolving in response to natural selection pressures, their evolution alone might not be enough for them to survive because their competitors are also evolving. Thus, the constant competition for survival leads to a never-ending arms race, similar to two people running just to stay in the same spot. This theory emphasizes the importance of coevolution and interactions among different species in shaping the evolution of life on earth.
It can be applied to business by realizing that stagnation is losing.
