Learning without having an understanding of meta-learning is like trying to build a house without a foundation. *What even is learning?* Learning is a change in behavior or capability as a result of memory. This is integrally different from performance enhancement using resources which is more analogous to learning elimination. And different from rote memorization in class because the information is applied into a real world setting of some significance. Why should we want to learn how to learn? - Helps us learn more effectively - Helps us learn in a world which is changing faster than ever - [[Curiosity feeds curiosity]] and is a joy in itself - Helps us pursue our goals - [[Transfer of learning]] doesn’t always occur so if we want to get good at many things we have to be good at learning How do you choose what you want to learn in the first place? - [[4 Step Guide To Building A New Identity]] - [[Goal setting MOC]] - [[Unlock Your Potential By Creating A Higher Self To Aspire Towards]] Getting Motivated To Learn - [[Gamification MOC]] - [[AIP 79 Finding Motivation In A Slump - Hitting The Grind]] - [[This One Question Made Me Addicted To Learning]] - [[Seven Powerful Tips For Cultivating Intrinsic Motivation In College-From Burnout to Bliss]] # The Three Part Ultimate Learning Loop: See, Do, Feedback We have [[How we have evolved to learn effectively|evolved to learn effectively in certain ways]]. ## See Humans are social creatures and learn greatly from seeing others do things. Prioritize [[Quantity births quality|quantity over quality]] especially at the beginning as you get better the more loops of doing plus feedback you get. ## Feedback The shorter the loop between action and feedback the better. The more varied the feedback the better. [[Three types of feedback|There are three types of feedback you can get]] and you can [[How to improve your feedback|improve each of them.]] Make sure to give and get feedback in a way that promotes a [[Growth mindset]].
