<!-- needs image --> ## Description Pord is a [[goblin]] who was found chained up with enchanted iron bands of binding in the underground caverns beneath the goblin fortress near the [[Amber Road]]. He claimed the other [[goblins]] had tied him up as a joke and that everyone had fled when the party's assault on the compound erupted above. The bands required a command word to release -- one that had been set in [[Goblin]] by the late chieftain [[Dip]] and was never recovered. After [[Maizie Waterford|Maizie]] spent dozens of attempts trying to brute-force the command word, [[Khan]] took a more direct approach, convincing Pord through a story about dislocating his thumbs to slip free. The first thumb came loose with a painful crack; the second bent the wrong direction before being set back, but the goblin was freed. Pord's time with the party was brief and unremarkable. He crossed a rickety bridge spanning a chasm alongside [[Khan]] and began scavenging the lower caverns on his own, showing the survival instincts of someone who had learned to get by in a place where everyone bigger than him made the rules. He confirmed that the goblins had been selling captured creatures to buyers from [[Zadash]], adding a piece to the puzzle of the compound's purpose. When combat broke out against a giant crocodile and a [[Flesh Golem]] in the flooded caverns below, Pord fled and was not seen again -- disappearing into the dark with the quiet efficiency of someone who had long ago decided that discretion was worth more than loyalty.
