## See also - [[One-Second Meditation]] - [[Focus Motion Meditation – Eye-Focus-Assisted Meditation]] ## Who - Alexis - Skipped class in highschool to sneak out into the forest to meditate - Seasoned Mindfulness/Meditation/Kundalini Yoga Practicioner/Teacher - Has studied 25+ meditations using consequtive 40, 90, and 120-day cycles - Has tested a plethora of tools to improve daily practice ## What - I've come up with an entirely new way to meditate - The simplest meditation you could ever do - The meditation you'll ACTUALLY remember - The meditation you'll ACTUALLY do multiple times a day - Week after week - Month after month - Year after year ## Why - After studying meditations for over twenty years - I've learned that it's not the "how" but the "when" - Or better "how often" ## How - It's exactly what it says: One breath is a full meditation - All you have to do is pause for about 2 seconds and: - 1. Notice your inhale - 2. Notice your exhale - And that's IT! - You're DONE! - You've meditated! - Congratulations! - Whohoooo! ### Let them opt-in - Do you think you CAN do this? - Do you think you have what it takes to stop and observe one breath? - Okay, I think so. - Let's do the following: - Let's train this - I do, where you see me do it - We do, where we do it together - You do, where you do it alone ### I do - Exhale deeply - Inhale freely - [[Exhale deeply to inhale freely]] ### We do ... ### You do ... ### Let's train this a little - I want you to do this with me, go on a journey through your day ### Morning - Imagine you just got out of the shower... - It's warm and steamy - Pause for a moment (You don't have to even stand still) - Notice your inhale - Notice your exhale - Celebrate! You did it! - You finished your meditation for today! ### At work - Now imagine you just sat down for work... - Maybe you feel a little anxious before opening Outlook - Pause for a moment (You don't have to even stand still) - Notice your inhale - Notice your exhale - Celebrate! You did it! - You finished your second meditation, extra CREDIT, for today! ### In the evening - Now imagine you just got home... - Maybe you feel exhausted, that's okay - Pause for a moment (You don't have to even stand still) - Notice your inhale - Notice your exhale - Celebrate! You did it! - You finished your second meditation, EXTRA EXTRA CREDIT, for today! ### A few tips and tricks - Sometimes even a single breath is hard to follow - I use "1" and "2" to count. - "1" for the inhale - "2" for the exhale ## Challenge - As you can tell, the "HOW" is not difficult - The "HOW OFTEN" usually is - BUT you're set up for success - I want you to take 3 one breath meditation pauses in the next 30 minutes - And I want you to take 4 one breath meditation pauses tomorrow ### When you've done this... - Come back here and comment that you've completed your first day #onebreathmeditationdayone ## Thank you ## PS: Closes - If you think this is crazy... - If you think this is stupid...
